Transform your Outdoor Space: The Beauty of Oak Frame Cookhouses

It’s the time of year when we start to benefit from the lighter nights, hopefully some warmer weather (fingers crossed) and start to think about what to do in the garden this year. Here at Cheshire Oak Structures we start to receive more enquiries for our Oak frame outdoor living designs.

One of our most popular Oak structures is now the Oak frame Cheshire Cookhouse. This design has been a natural development from the classic Oak gazebo and Oak pavilions we have created over our 18 years in the Oak frame business.

As the trend for outdoor living and cooking has developed so have our Oak frame cook house designs. Alongside the traditional British BBQ equipment there’s now a full range of sophisticated outdoor cooking equipment and our Oak cookhouses can provide the perfect place to enjoy cooking and dining in the garden whatever the British weather throws at us.

The Oak cookhouse below was one of the first designs of this type that Cheshire Oak Structures created. It has been much admired and prompted the development of other similar Oak designs. This Oak cook house features a fantastic Jamie Oliver pizza oven, log store, wine storage and BBQ set within bespoke brick work.

Our Oak cookhouses are generally bespoke in design with a choice of features such as Oak trusses, walls enclosed with glass panels, feature brickwork and chimneys plus the choice of different materials to finish the under ceiling area. This Oak pavilion style cookhouse has feature trusses enclosed with glass panels and stainless steel ‘D’ clamps to weatherproof the design.

For this Oak cookhouse design the customer asked us to use local stone to create the feature bar area to be sympathetic and match to the rest of the property. The staddle stones were also matched to the local stone. This attention to detail and the customer’s design brief is what makes a Cheshire Oak Structures cook house stand out from others in the market place.

The next design with a hipped roof works as both an Oak gazebo and also an Oak cookhouse. The BBQ is positioned to one side rather than integrated into the structure. Our customers have a very flexible Oak design where they enjoy drinks with friends and BBQs.

Grillo equipment is increasingly popular and also featured in the Oak cookhouse below, which we designed and built in the summer of 2024. Grillo have fitted a Pizza oven, BBQ set, a Gusto charcoal cooker and Fridge, all in a matt charcoal, their signature colour.

Other designs details in the Oak cookhouse include feature Oak trusses and cedar shingle roof which is finished under the ceiling with tongue and groove boarding to create a stunning outdoor cooking and entertaining area.
