Roofing from a choice of roof coverings.

Groundworks
At Cheshire Oak Structures we believe in offering our customers the full build project and that includes all groundworks. Our groundworks team provide the necessary footings & concrete base, brick walls and staddle stones to take the Oak frame structure. If this service is not required, we will supply the detailed dimensioned drawings for your own groundworks supplier to work from.
The groundworks often takes place a week or so ahead of the frame arriving to allow the concrete and any brickwork to “go off”.
In addition to the specific groundworks required for your Oak Frame Building our groundworks team also offer the following services:
-
Bricklaying
-
Driveways
-
Tarmac laying
-
Paving
-
Drainage/Soakaways
Erection of Frame
Our team of trained craftsmen are specialists in the erection of Oak Framed Buildings and apply our core principals of attention to detail to every aspect of the job. Not only do we have high quality craftsmen to build your Oak Frame Structure but we also use a combination of tried and tested techniques to ensure the structure is weather proofed and finished to the highest possible specification.
To give a brief outline of the sequence of events our craftsmen erect the green Oak timbers to create the structural frame using the posts, eaves and tie beams, we then cut the roof timbers on and depending on the design fit the weatherboarding and wind bracing, partition walls, joinery and finally fit the roof and guttering. Depending on the final use of the structure we can also fit insulation and Fermacell to finish the interior of the building making it useable all year round.

Roofing
At Cheshire Oak Structures we believe in offering our customers the full build project and that includes the roofing of the structure.
Our construction team will fit waterproof membrane, battens and whatever roofing materials are required.
We usually fit Slate, Tiles or Cedar Shingles to co-ordinate with the rest of the property but other roofing materials such as, Traditional Thatching, Onduline, etc are also possible. In addition we work with specialists in Green Roofs Sedum/Grass, etc.
The final element to fit is the guttering and downpipes. Black Ogee is a firm favourite with our clients and looks great with an Oak frame. If required we can match the existing guttering on your property and also use products to meet the requirements for conservation areas and listing buildings.
If this service is not required, we will supply the detailed dimensioned drawings for your own roofing supplier to work from.
